So here we are day three personal blog

Filed under: General — JamesC @ 3:55 pm

Well here it is the second day of un-employment I spent yesterday going to interviews filling out applications and hearing we will get back with you. Sometimes this is good news but right now I would rather hear when can you start.

Now this is not really anything new to me I have worked construction for years and you do get laid off at times. But here is the kicker there is lots of work going on here in Nashville.

The one question I keep hearing is what kind of money are you looking for? Now back in 2000 when I first came to Nashville the going wage for an experienced electrician was 16.00 to 16.50 an hour.
That was 8 years ago; the inflation rate from January 2000 to August 2008 is 29.79% so if we apply this to the pay rate the rate around here now should be around 20.00 to 21.00 an hour. I am looking for around 18.00 to 19.00 an hour. Seems reasonable right?

Well I am finding out that it is not, I have been told that a company can hire others at a rate even lower then the 2000 rate. You might wonder who could survive at such pay rate well I will give you one guess. The very same people that the last company I worked for hires.

Anyways tomorrow will be a new day I filed for un-employment benefits today only the second time I have filed in over 30 years (the first time was in 2002). So come Monday I will break out my little black book and start making phone calls to people I know in the electrical business and see if I can find some leads that are not listed in the want adds.

Lets get personal

Filed under: General — JamesC @ 12:21 pm

Well folks here we are, 2008 is coming to an end the elections are over, illegal immigrants are still pouring over our borders like a busted water main.

Now this blog was never intended to be a political thing, but a friend pointed out the immigration bill that was being pushed through and I knew that would affect me sooner or later so bang that is what began the politics here.

So now that nothing has came about from all that I decided to get back to the personal blog which was the idea to start with.

So here we are day one personal blog:

Well the election is over Obama won big time like all expected, so what does this mean for me and my family?

Went to work like I normally do there at 6:05 am 25 minutes before start time, I was told that the project superintendent wanted to see me so to wait at his office. 6:30 am the boss shows up and lays me off. The lay off slip says lack of work, ok well we have been working 10 hours a day but if there was a lack of work why did they hire those 6 immigrants?

Strange you might ask, and why am I bringing up the 6 immigrants?
Well yesterday being the noisy person I am I happened to ask a few of these guys were they here legally? The answer was yes, they all came from Mexico on a visitor visa which will allow them to stay here for 1 year.

Well I thought that’s cool at least they came over legally, but that visa does not allow them to work while they are here or so I have read.

Anyways this seems to be a bad start to a new deal of “change” that the democrats promised I guess what they meant to say was “you will be counting your change”.

Oh well I am off to look for work, seems every time a democratic president is elected in office I need to find work, why is that?

Muslim terrorists and the U.S.A. :

Filed under: General — JamesC @ 9:40 am

“For what it’s worth … I’ve read, and then re-read every word in the note below, and believe it’s one of the very few letters I’ve ever received that merit forwarding.

This is the most cogent and powerful essay on the threat of Islamic terrorism I have seen. Dr. Vernon Chong is, without a doubt, the most articulate and convincing writer I have read regarding the War in Iraq . If you have any doubts, please open your mind to his essay and give it a fair evaluation. It’s also eerily applicable to other current issues, such as Iran ’s nuclear program, immigration, NAFTA’s impact on American jobs, trade deficits, etc. I had no idea who Dr. Chong is, or the source of these thoughts, so when I received them, I almost deleted them, as well-written as they are. But then I did a Google search on the Doctor and found him to be a retired Air Force surgeon and past commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio ”
If you would like to see who this fine man is, go to this Air Force web site and look him up:

Yeah I am still here.

Well it’s been a while since I jotted down anything here but that is just because life is keeping me busy. But if you really want to know what is going through the minds of the Cordray’s then just pop over to http://hillbillypolitics.com that is my life partner over there and she speaks our minds very well (she keeps me up-to-date on the world events).

I have seen some very strange things coming out of DC here of late one that I am still confused is this Hillary Clinton, here is a lady that can’t take care of her own house (remember her hubby getting his rocks off in the oval office with someone other then her) yet trying to tell everyone else how they should tend to their house? Ok I’m lost there but it don’t take much thinking to see right through her line of babble.

She speaks to the crowd where ever she goes and that is what she supports, kinda good idea cover all the bases so you can’t go wrong (till she is elected).

If you want to really see what is happening just watch the movie Man of the Year with Robin Williams it should hit the little lite bulb in the ole brain and make you think for a little while about how politicians are trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

Anyways just wanted to say howdy and all you bloggers keep on blogging, I will try and write a bit more often.

Peace and love yall.

P.S.

Remember stop by http://hillbillypolitics.com you wont regret it.

BLUE PIDGEON

Filed under: CAII, General — JamesC @ 1:05 am

The mayor of Phoenix was very worried about a plague of pigeons in Phoenix. The mayor could not remove the pigeons from the city. All of Phoenix was full of pigeon poop. The people of Phoenix couldn’t walk on the sidewalks or drive on the roads. It was costing a fortune to try to keep the streets and sidewalks clean.

One day a man came to City Hall and offered the Mayor a proposition. “I can rid your beautiful city of its plague of pigeons without cost to the city. But, you must promise not to ask me any questions. Or, you can pay me five million dollars and ask one question.”

The mayor accepted the free proposition.

The next day the man climbed to the top of City Hall, opened his coat, and released a blue pigeon. The blue pigeon circled in the air and flew up into the bright blue Arizona sky.

All the pigeons in Phoenix saw the blue pigeon. They gathered behind the blue pigeon. The Phoenix pigeons followed the blue pigeon as she flew southward out of the city.

The next day the blue pigeon returned completely alone to the man atop City Hall.

The Mayor was very impressed. He thought the man and the blue pigeon had performed a wonderful miraculous feat to rid Phoenix of the plague of pigeons.

Even though the man with the pigeon had charged nothing, the mayor presented him with a check for 5 million dollars. He told the man that he did have a question and he decided to pay the 5 million just to get to get ONE answer.

The man accepted the money and told the mayor to ask his question.

You’re going to love this….

The mayor asked: “Do you have a blue Mexican?”

It’s Time to Change Government Leadership; It’s Time to Change the Nation!
